Kensington & Chelsea Council has formed a Commission on Retail Conservation in an attempt to see what can be done to preserve the character of our neighbourhood shopping areas and reduce the cloning effect apparent on major high streets. The Commission is chaired by former Mayor, Councillor Tim Ahern, and includes Sir Terence Conran, Andrew Ashenden, Chief Executive of Howard de Walden Estates and Peter Simon, chairman of fashion retailer, Monsoon. Wedge Affinity Card
The Wedge affinity card was launched last year by John Bird, the brains behind The Big Issue. Its aim is to re-vitalise local communities by offering an affinity scheme to customers using local shops and services.
