The Northcote ward councillors, Philip Beddows, Peter Dawson and Martin Johnson, have worked closely with the Northcote Road Residents' Action Group since its inception and have played a key role in developing Wandsworth Council's proposals for a Northcote Road Study which will be starting shortly.
The councillors have described the study as part of "...an exciting and imaginative array of initiatives for Northcote Road. Central to the proposals will be a study aimed at enhancing the essential nature of Northcote Road. Residents, businesses, shoppers, market stallholders, freeholders and other users and stakeholders will be asked to contribute their views and ideas through in-depth surveys and focus group discussions starting before long. In particular, the studies will look at options to improve Northcote Road's profile as a shopping and leisure destination for residents and visitors. Ideas for improving the environment and streetscape of the road will be investigated as will the possibility of setting up a Northcote Road Trust."
